Basketball Recap: Lanier Victorious

Lanier won the last time they faced Fox Tech, and Zach Martinez did his part to make sure it happened again. The Lanier Voks strolled past the Fox Tech Buffaloes with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 60-46 thanks in part to Martinez, who went 7 of 14 on his way to 34 points and seven steals. His evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Garza, who posted six points. That's the most points he has posted since back in November of 2024.

Lanier's victory bumped their record up to 11-12. As for Fox Tech, they dropped their record down to 4-21 with the defeat, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Jefferson the next time they take the court. Fox Tech will host Jefferson at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Lanier will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on January 17th.
