Softball Recap: Thunder Ridge Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Thunder Ridge had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Rigby Trojans by a score of 9-4. That's more bragging rights for the Titans, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Carly Jones looked comfortable as she struck out six batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Giulia Johns, who scored two runs while going 2-for-5. Avery Roberts was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Thunder Ridge pushed their record up to 8-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Rigby, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Thunder Ridge beat the Trojans by a score of 14-3 later that day.
