Volleyball Recap: Hollywood Hills Takes a Loss

If Hollywood Hills was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Northeast last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Spartans fell 3-1 to the South Plantation Paladins on Wednesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Spartans of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2023.

While Hollywood Hills ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-18, 25-27, 25-18.

Despite the loss, Hollywood Hills saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Christian Hernandez had 19 digs.

Hollywood Hills' defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for South Plantation, their record now sits at 8-4.

Hollywood Hills didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Everglades on the 21st. As for South Plantation, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against West Broward on the 17th.
