Softball Recap: St. Joseph Catholic Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

St. Joseph Catholic put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against the Central Texas Christian Lions as they made off with a 9-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won three contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Penny Ramirez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out 17 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Mary Najvar was a standout: she went 1-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Robin Eubanks, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

St. Joseph Catholic's win bumped their record up to 4-0.

As of now, neither they nor Central Texas Christian have any future games scheduled.
