Fort Wayne South Side extended their losing streak  to three  on Friday, dropping their season record down to 6-11 in the process. They fell  8-4 to the Fort Wayne Canterbury Cavaliers. If the Archers were looking for revenge after losing  7-3 to the Cavaliers when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
 David Sandoval was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he  tossed 2.2 innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   two  hits. What's more,  he gave up only zero  earned runs, the fewest he's  had since back in April. He was also big at the plate,  getting on base  in all three of his plate appearances with two  RBI and one  run.
 In other batting news,  Casen Harl and  Corte Wallace did some serious damage despite the final result:  Harl  went 3-for-4 with one  stolen base and one  RBI, while  Wallace  went 2-for-3 with one  triple and one  run.  Adrian Belch - Watson was another key player,  getting on base  in two of his four plate appearances with one  stolen base and one  run.
As for Fort Wayne Canterbury, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record  this season. Those  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 9.1 runs over those games.
Like Fort Wayne South Side, Fort Wayne Canterbury also got a great game from a two-way player:  JP Rohwer. He looked comfortable on the mound,   tossing three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   four  hits. Rohwer also  tossed  no  earned runs, which is notable because Fort Wayne Canterbury is undefeated when he allows at  most  one  earned run, but 3-4 otherwise. Rohwer was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-4 with one  double and one  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Braylon Maxey and  Noah Hayes did most of the damage at the plate:  Maxey  got on base  in three of his four plate appearances with two  runs, two  RBI,  and one  double, while  Hayes  went 3-for-4 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  double. Those  three  hits gave  Hayes a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Andrew Maloblocki, who  went 1-for-4 with two  stolen bases, two  RBI,  and one  run.
 Fort Wayne South Side has already played their next match,  a  9-0  loss against Fort Wayne Snider on the 15th. As for Fort Wayne Canterbury, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  game,  an  11-4  win against Fort Wayne Crusaders on the 10th.
