Twin Falls is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They strolled past Century with points to spare, taking the game 22-7. The 22-point effort marked the Bruins' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.
Jackson Sattelberg was his usual excellent self, rushing for 80 yards and one TD, while also picking up 34 receiving yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Twin Falls was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 211 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 186 rushing yards in eight consecutive matchups.
Twin Falls didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Alex Johnson, Draikyn Ferreira, and Dax Payne picked up one apiece.
Meanwhile, Hillcrest faced Lakeland in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Knights put the hurt on the Hawks with a sharp 35-14 victory. Considering the Knights have won eight games by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Twin Falls better keep an eye on Tyson Sweetwood. He was instrumental in Hillcrest's win, rushing for 99 yards and a pair of scores on only ten carries, while also throwing for 83 yards and one touchdown while completing 71.4% of his passes. Tate Prince was another key player, gaining 86 total yards.
Twin Falls' win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Hillcrest, their victory bumped their record up to 10-1.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Twin Falls has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 173.3 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Hillcrest struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 240.6 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Twin Falls suffered a grim 49-28 defeat to Hillcrest in their previous meeting back in October. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Sweetwood, who rushed for 79 yards and four TDs, and also threw for 224 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes.
