Basketball Recap: South Webster Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Addi Claxon and Cailee Blevins

South Webster was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They took a hard 41-25 fall against the Valley Indians. The Jeeps were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Indians apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

South Webster's loss came despite strong showings from Cailee Blevins and Addi Claxon. Blevins posted 11 points and seven steals, while Claxon earned seven points in addition to eight steals and five rebounds. Claxon has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 21 times she's played.

South Webster's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Valley, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-6.

South Webster and Valley could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. South Webster will face off against Wheelersburg at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday down 509 places (704 vs. 195). Meanwhile, Valley (ranked 444th) will meet Green (ranked 215th) at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
