Softball Preview: Salem Wildcats vs. Sacred Heart Crusaders
Salem is 7-0 against Sacred Heart since March of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Salem Wildcats will head out on the road to take on the Sacred Heart Crusaders at 6:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Salem came tearing into Wednesday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.7 runs) and they left with even more momentum. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Eagles a 19-0 shutout. That looming 19-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Salem yet this season.
Marissa Pollard was a standout: she went 3-for-3 with six RBI, two runs, and a double. Kira Bridges was another key contributor, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-1.
