Soccer Game Preview: Liberty vs. Independence

The Liberty Patriots are taking a road trip to square off against the Independence Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Liberty's last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Liberty's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They won by a goal and slipped past Reedley 1-0. That's two games straight that Liberty have won by just one goal.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of William Dawson, which was the first he's scored this season.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Independence faced off against Bakersfield Christian on Saturday. The Falcons came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 3-1. The win continues a trend for Independence in their matchups with Bakersfield Christian: they've now won six in a row.

Liberty's record now sits at 5-2-4. As for Independence, their record is now 5-6-3.

Liberty came out on top in a nail-biter against Independence in their previous matchup back in January of 2025, sneaking past 2-1. Will the Patriots repeat their success, or do the Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
