Preview: New Richmond Tigers vs. Hudson Raiders
New Richmond is on a five-game streak of home wins, while Hudson is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The New Richmond Tigers will take on the Hudson Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in New Richmond's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last five contests.
Last Friday, New Richmond got themselves on the board against Eau Claire North, but Eau Claire North never followed suit. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 33-0 victory over the Huskies. Given New Richmond's advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin football rankings (they are ranked 12th, while Eau Claire North is ranked 139th), the result wasn't exactly an upset.
New Richmond's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Miles Burke led the charge by rushing for 133 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries. Another player making a difference was Reis Hidde, who threw for 97 yards and two touchdowns.
New Richmond's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Leading the way was Bjorn Bahneman and his two sacks.
Meanwhile, Hudson got themselves on the board against Superior on Friday, but Superior never followed suit. They blew past the Spartans, posting a 35-0 victory on the road. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Hudson just coasted through the last quarter.
Their wins bumped New Richmond to 8-0 and Hudson to 7-1.
New Richmond came up short against Hudson in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, falling 30-20. Will New Richmond have more luck at home instead of on the road?
