Basketball Recap: La Quinta Snags 11th Win in Last 12 Games

La Quinta had won four straight home games and Katelyn Vo did her part to make it five on Thursday. The La Quinta Aztecs walked away with a 38-29 win over the Oxford Academy Patriots thanks in part to Vo, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 boards. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in blocks (eight).

La Quinta has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.3 points per game. As for Oxford Academy, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-5.

La Quinta wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 42-12 victory against Samueli Academy on the 3rd. As for Oxford Academy, they will host Artesia at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Oxford Academy is facing Artesia at the right time seeing as Artesia is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
