League recap: Hamilton's hitting boosts San Marcos

5A Region IV District 25 league recap: 3/20/13

David Hamilton was on fire this week, as he led 5A Region IV District 25 with a .500 average, two home runs and ten RBIs. San Marcos compiled a record of 1-1 in that time.

Eddie Quiroz was the top pitcher in the league this week, leading Wagner. He picked up one win and five strikeouts.

The Thunderbirds boasted the best pitching over the past week, holding opponents to the league's fewest hits and issuing the fewest walks.

There were seven hitters that batted over .400 in the league this week. Leading the pack was BJ Mills, who hit .500 by going 4-for-8.

With six runs batted in this week, the Rattlers' Noel Zapata increased his league-leading total in that category to 25.



Elijah Perez drove in four runners as San Marcos defeated Steele 12-11 on Wednesday. He went 1-for-3 and scored one run.
