Basketball Recap: Mason Burns Key Part of a Team Effort in Saints Win

Faith Christian's game back in December of 2024 was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They secured a 53-47 W over the Family Christian Warriors. The score was all tied up 20-20 at the break, but the Saints were the better team in the second half.

Faith Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mason Burns, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 19 boards. Those 19 rebounds gave Burns a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryan Galvan, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds.

Faith Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Faith Christian's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Family Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Faith Christian will face off against Liberty Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Family Christian, they will be playing at home against Founders Classical Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
