Baseball Recap: Monarch Takes a Loss

If Monarch was feeling good fresh off their 13-1 takedown of Boyd Anderson on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Knights fell just short of the American Heritage Stallions by a score of 4-2 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Knights have suffered since April 4, 2025.

Monarch saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Champ Brown, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Brown is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Monarch's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for American Heritage, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-4 record.

Looking ahead, Monarch will head out on the road to take on Pompano Beach at 5:30 p.m. on March 2. As for American Heritage, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Dr. Joaquin Garcia at 6:30 p.m. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed one run per game this season, so the Stallions' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
