Basketball Game Preview: George Washington Patriots vs. Montbello Warriors

The George Washington Patriots are taking a road trip to face off against the Montbello Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (George Washington has five straight wins, Montbello has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Friday, George Washington made easy work of Denver North and carried off a 59-38 victory. The Patriots pushed the score to 46-24 by the end of the third, a deficit the Vikings cut but never quite recovered from.

George Washington's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nala Jordan, who posted 12 points. Jordan is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Brittany Booker was another key player, putting up seven points along with five assists and five steals.

George Washington smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Denver North only pulled down ten offensive boards.

Meanwhile, Montbello ended up a good deal behind DSST: Montview on Monday and lost 41-24.

George Washington will need focus on slowing down Clarissa Valles, one of several Montbello players who made an impact when they last played. She put up two points.

George Washington's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-6. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 33 points. As for Montbello, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10.
