Softball Recap: Gunderson Grizzlies vs. Mt. Pleasant Cardinals        
        
		
            
 Gunderson can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent  matchup  on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Mt. Pleasant Cardinals as the Gunderson Grizzlies made off with  a  10-3 win. The  victory was some much needed relief for Gunderson as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
  Alanna Martinez Poklong made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out 16 batters over  seven innings while giving up just one earned  (and two unearned) runs off   three  hits. Martinez Poklong has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts every time she's  pitched this season. Martinez Poklong was also stellar in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs and  stealing two bases while  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Desirae Regalado, who  went 2-for-3 with four  RBI, a  stolen base,  and a  run.  Breanna Bartek was another key contributor,  scoring three  runs and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances.
 Gunderson's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Mt. Pleasant, they dropped their record down to 1-8 with that  loss, which was their sixth straight  on the road dating back to last season.
 Gunderson will  take on Evergreen Valley at 4:00  p.m.  on Friday. Gunderson is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 16.4  runs per game this season. As for Mt. Pleasant, they will look to defend their home field  on Friday against Overfelt at 4:00  p.m.
