Baseball Game Preview: Springville Red Devils vs. Wasatch Wasps

For the second straight game, Springville will face off against Wasatch. The Red Devils will take on the Wasps at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Springville has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 25.

Springville couldn't beat Wasatch on Friday even though they stacked four runs on them in the second inning. The Red Devils lost 13-7 to the Wasps.

For Wasatch's part, Alex Scott looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Braxton Faller, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Wasatch's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 6-7 when he doesn't). Royal Matthews was another key player, going 4-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Wasatch was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .421. They are 7-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Wasatch's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-7. As for Springville, their loss dropped their record down to 5-12.
