Football Game Preview: West Jefferson Roughriders vs. Mechanicsburg Indians

The West Jefferson Roughriders will square off against the Mechanicsburg Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Mechanicsburg will be up against a hot West Jefferson team: the squad just extended their winning streak to seven. The Roughriders took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 55-7 win over Triad. With the Roughriders ahead 48-0 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

It was another big night for Austin Buescher, who threw for 413 yards and two TDs while completing 95.5% of his passes, and also punched in a pair of touchdowns on the ground. Another player making a difference was Jackson Beatty, who picked up 246 receiving yards.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Mechanicsburg and Fairbanks, and Mechanicsburg kept the tradition alive. The Indians simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Panthers 41-7.

West Jefferson's victory bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Mechanicsburg, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.
