Basketball Recap: Charleston Comes Up Short

If Charleston was riding high fresh off their 44-20 takedown of Urbana last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Charleston Trojans were outmatched by the Mahomet-Seymour Bulldogs and fell 64-35. The Trojans have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Charleston lost on Thursday despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Sadie Phillips, who posted ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Anny Logsdon, who had nine points.

Charleston's defeat dropped their record down to 4-19. As for Mahomet-Seymour, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season.

Charleston didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 29-28 victory against Mattoon on the 1st. Mahomet-Seymour has also already played their next contest, a 68-61 win against Effingham on the 1st.
