Volleyball Recap: Lincoln-Way East Beats York for Their Third Straight Win

Lincoln-Way East entered their tilt with York on Wednesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Dukes by a score of 2-0.

While Lincoln-Way East won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 27-25.

Lincoln-Way East had a senior duo take command as Maggie Simon had 13 digs and two aces and Charlotte Buck had nine digs and five assists. Those 13 digs set a new season-high mark for Simon. Alaina Pollard also deserves some recognition as she had her first digs of the season.

When it comes to explaining why York lost, don't look at Emma Braathen. Despite the final result, she had nine digs and one assist.

Lincoln-Way East's win bumped their record up to 27-8. As for York, their loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 23-12.

Lincoln-Way East wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Thornwood on the 28th. As for York, they have also already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Riverside-Brookfield on the 28th.
