Baseball Game Preview: Cocoa Beach Minutemen vs. Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy Tigers

The Cocoa Beach Minutemen will head out to take on the Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy Tigers at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Cocoa Beach's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

While Cocoa Beach's win against Titusville wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Cocoa Beach had just enough and edged out Titusville 6-5.

Kristian Wolfe made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in February. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. Cocoa Beach is undefeated when Wolfe posts two or more stolen bases, but 6-7 otherwise.

In other batting news, Parker Cress and Hayden Wilson did most of the damage at the plate: Cress scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Wilson scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. That's the most runs Wilson has posted since back in February.

Meanwhile, Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy lost 12-1 to Lake Highland Prep on Wednesday.

Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Thatcher, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Cocoa Beach pushed their record up to 9-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 5-9.
