Soccer Game Preview: East Wake Academy vs. Franklin Academy

East Wake Academy is 0-10 against Franklin Academy since May of 2018 but things could change on Monday. East Wake Academy will head out to challenge Franklin Academy at 5:00 p.m. Both teams are still undefeated after five games, but that won't be the case come Monday.

East Wake Academy hadn't beaten Research Triangle on the road since April 13, 2018 but that history sure didn't bother them on Friday. East Wake Academy's defense stepped up to hand Research Triangle a 6-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for East Wake Academy, who have now won four contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Franklin Academy's game last Tuesday was all tied up 2-2 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 4-2 victory over NCSSM: Durham. Kayla Rice was a massive factor in the win as she booted in three goals all by herself.

East Wake Academy's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three games. As for Franklin Academy, their record now sits at 5-0.

East Wake Academy suffered a grim 4-1 defeat to Franklin Academy in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can East Wake Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
