Basketball Recap: The Academy Takes a Loss

The Academy played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt an 83-55 defeat at the hands of the Prospect Ridge Academy Miners. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-21.

Despite the loss, The Academy still got an impressive performance from Trey Boychuk, who went 7 for 17 en route to 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dominik Konarski, who went 6 of 13 on his way to 13 points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Prospect Ridge Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Travis Agbosse, who almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine boards. Another player making a difference was Ezekiel Bote, who went 7 for 16 en route to 18 points in addition to seven rebounds and six assists.

The Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Prospect Ridge Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-3.

The Academy is taking a road trip to challenge Forge Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Prospect Ridge Academy, they will square off against Peak to Peak at 7:00 p.m. on January 31st.
