Softball Recap: South Gallia Comes Up Short

South Gallia extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping their season record down to 1-7 in the process. They lost 18-0 to the Eastern Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 20-0 on April 2nd.

As for Eastern, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-5. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by ten runs or more this season.

For Eastern's part, the team relied heavily on Jaidyn McCleese, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI. With that strong performance, McCleese is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game. Aubrey Quillen was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs.

Coming up, South Gallia is taking a road trip to square off against Northwest at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Eastern, they will take on Green at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
