Volleyball Recap: Firestone Extends Winning Streak to Five

Firestone waltzed into their match on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came out on top against the Garfield Rams by a score of 3-1. This was a revenge game for the Falcons: when they faced off against the Rams on September 9th, they had to take a 3-0 defeat.

In the three sets Firestone was on fire: they won each by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 20-25, 25-12, 25-15.

Soleilya Rozier paced Firestone's offense, picking up ten kills. Rozier got some help from Michaela Payden and her two assists. Rozier was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Firestone now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Garfield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-10.

Firestone didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Garfield Heights on the 27th. As for Garfield, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-2 victory against North on the 30th.
