Basketball Recap: Ella Zhuk's Big Game Can't Quite Lead High Point Academy over Greenville H

High Point Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 35-30 heartbreaker at the hands of the Greenville H Hurricanes. While the Grizzlies didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Hurricanes 9-4 in the first quarter.

High Point Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Ella Zhuk, who posted 11 points and six boards. That was a full 36.7% of High Point Academy's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ti'Jah Davis, who earned six points and 11 rebounds.

Emery Lindsey was nothing short of spectacular for Greenville H: she had 15 points in addition to five boards and three steals. Another player making a difference was Macie Hanley, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and four steals.

High Point Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Greenville H, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-3.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Brashier Middle College Charter the next time they take the court. Greenville H will host Brashier Middle College Charter at 7:15 p.m. on Monday, while High Point Academy will host them at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
