 Wayne waltzed into their matchup  on Tuesday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They blew past Thurston-Cuming County 13-3. Wayne might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won four contests by nine  runs or more this season.
  Adrian Contreras was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   tossing four innings while giving up  three earned runs off   three  hits. Contreras was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-3 with a  stolen base, a  double,  and  an  RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as he's  now  stolen  at least one in the last three games he's  played.
 In other pitching news,  Alex Rodriguez looked comfortable as he  tossed two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit (he also didn't allow any  walks).
 Back at the plate,  Parker Patefield was a standout: he scored a  run and  stole a base while going 3-for-4.  Jaxson Kneifl was another key contributor,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-3.
 On Thurston-Cuming County's side,  Owen Kneifl made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  scored a  run while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of  Alex Roth, who  went 2-for-3 with a  triple and a  run.
 Wayne pushed their record up to 9-1 with that  win, which was their fifth straight  at home. As for Thurston-Cuming County, they  haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-7.
 Wayne will head out on the road to  take on  Tekamah-Herman at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Wayne knows how to get  runs on the board -- the  squad has finished with flashy  run totals in its past four games -- so hopefully Tekamah-Herman likes a good challenge. As for Thurston-Cuming County, they will be playing at home against Centennial at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Thurston-Cuming County is facing Centennial at the right time seeing as Centennial is stuck on  a  six-game losing streak.
