Softball Recap: Mercy Takes a Loss

If Mercy was riding high fresh off their 11-1 takedown of Stagg on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bears took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ceres Bulldogs on Saturday.

Mercy's loss dropped their record down to 12-4. As for Ceres, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4-1 record this season.

Mercy will face off against Jefferson at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Ceres, they will be taking part in a tournament against Orestimba at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bulldogs 3.1, the Warriors 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
