Basketball Recap: Hamilton Southeastern Starts Season with Loss at Home

Hamilton Southeastern unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They lost to the Pike Red Devils at home by a 65-46 margin on Saturday. If the Royals were looking for revenge after losing 63-57 to the Red Devils when the teams met back in November of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

When it comes to explaining why Hamilton Southeastern lost, don't look at Landon Osswald. Despite the final result, he posted 11 points and six rebounds. Luke Weemer was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Pike now has a winning record of 2-1.

Looking ahead, Hamilton Southeastern will venture away from home to face off against Avon at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup will give the Royals their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Pike, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against 21st Century Charter at 7:30 p.m. on the 12th.
