Soccer Game Preview: Maine School of Science & Math vs. Madawaska

The Maine School of Science & Math Penguins will head out to challenge the Madawaska Owls at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Maine School of Science & Math's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Maine School of Science & Math fell victim to Easton and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They came up short against the Bears, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, Maine School of Science & Math can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine soccer rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while Easton are ranked 32nd).

Meanwhile, Madawaska had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.3 goals) and they went ahead and made it seven on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Hawks as they made off with a 6-2 win. The result was nothing new for Madawaska, who have now won nine contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Maine School of Science & Math's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Madawaska, their victory bumped their record up to 10-1.

Maine School of Science & Math suffered a grim 7-0 defeat to Madawaska when the teams last played back in September. Can the Penguins avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
