Preview: Brownstown/St. Elmo Eagles vs. Vandalia Vandals
The Brownstown/St. Elmo Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Vandalia Vandals at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Brownstown/St. Elmo will be strutting in after a win while Vandalia will be coming in after a loss.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Brownstown/St. Elmo ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They had just enough and edged Neoga out 66-64. Brownstown/St. Elmo's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Meanwhile, Vandalia was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 58-52 to Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City. Vandalia has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Brownstown/St. Elmo is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Vandalia, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.
Brownstown/St. Elmo might still be hurting after the 51-26 loss they got from Vandalia in their previous matchup back in February of 2022. Can Brownstown/St. Elmo avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
