Meanwhile, Pascagoula started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Gulfport. They fell just short of the Admirals by a score of 9-8 on Friday. The Panthers have struggled against the Admirals recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Yasmine Black made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 1-for-4. Another player making a difference was Ty'Mia Bell, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Black wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Pascagoula kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive matches.

Hancock's loss dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Pascagoula, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.
