Baseball Game Preview: Edgewood Warriors vs. Struthers Wildcats

The Edgewood Warriors will venture away from home to take on the Struthers Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Edgewood has given up an average of 7.2 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Edgewood is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They took a 14-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of West Geauga on Friday. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Zane Naylor was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while going 2-for-5. He also brought in two RBI, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Alex Sperduto, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Struthers was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 10-0 to Poland Seminary. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Wildcats were not able to get on the board.

Edgewood's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Struthers, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Edgewood couldn't quite finish off Struthers in their previous matchup back in March of 2017 and fell 3-1. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
