Basketball Recap: Leonard Comes Up Short

Leonard was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 53-41 to the Spanish River Sharks. The game marked the Lancers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Leonard lost, don't look at Bryce Reed. Despite the final result, he went 9 for 13 on his way to 23 points and five rebounds. That was a full 56.1% of Leonard's points, marking the third time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kiesun Moore, who had eight points.

Devan Degiuseppe was his usual excellent self, putting up 22 points for Spanish River. Eddy Lui was another key player, posting seven points.

Leonard's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Spanish River, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-6.

Leonard wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 70-38 victory against Dreyfoos School of the Arts on the 8th. As for Spanish River, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 62-60 win against Forest Hill on the 8th.
