Flag Football Game Preview: Thomas County Central Yellow Jackets vs. Cook Hornets

The Thomas County Central Yellow Jackets will take on the Cook Hornets at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Thomas County Central has eight straight victories, Cook has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Thomas County Central's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 21-0 margin over Thomasville. The Yellow Jackets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by 20 points or more this season.

The critical scores for Thomas County Central came from Lexi Frysz, Qua'Mya Yearby, and Jaida Pinkins.

One reason for the win was Thomas County Central's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Zykierra Hightower was especially locked on to Thomasville's QB and sacked her twice. Yearby got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Cook came up short against Lowndes on Tuesday and fell 20-13. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia flag football rankings (they are ranked 199th, while the Vikings are ranked 32nd).

Thomas County Central's win bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Cook, their loss dropped their record down to 4-10.
