Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Dalen Nemith and Alexa Thomas Lead Pickerington North to Victory

Pickerington North entered their tilt with Olentangy Berlin on Saturday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Bears with a sharp 3-0 win. For the Panthers, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 victory the Bears walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

The 3-0 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 25-23, 25-23.

Leading Pickerington North to victory were Alexa Thomas and Dalen Nemith. Thomas had ten digs and one assist, while Nemith had seven digs. Those seven digs gave Nemith a new career-high.

Despite the loss, Olentangy Berlin still got an impressive performance from Carsyn Chitty, who had six digs and four aces. Chitty is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 17 or more in each of the last seven games she's played.

Pickerington North's win bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Olentangy Berlin, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5.

Pickerington North and Olentangy Berlin should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Panthers will square off against Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (88 vs. 319). Meanwhile, Olentangy Berlin (ranked 58th) will meet Canal Winchester (ranked 514th) at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
