Basketball Recap: Frankfort Wildcats vs. Clifton-Clyde Eagles
Frankfort and Clifton-Clyde squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Frankfort had to settle for second. They came up short against the Clifton-Clyde Eagles, falling 56-31. The Wildcats just can't catch a break and have now endured 15 defeats in a row.
Clifton-Clyde's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lillian Steinbrock, who posted 11 points in addition to six assists and five steals. Thanks to that strong game, Steinbrock now owns an excellent 42.1% three-point shooting accuracy. Sevy Wurtz was another key player, putting up 13 points along with five boards and four steals.
Frankfort's loss dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Clifton-Clyde, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-5.
