Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Morgan Winkler and Ella Henschel Lead West Bend West to Victory

West Bend West won the last time they faced Hartford and things went their way on Saturday too. The Spartans walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Orioles. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Spartans.

West Bend West not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Hartford between 19 and 21 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-21.

Leading West Bend West to victory were Ella Henschel and Morgan Winkler. Henschel had 15 assists and two aces, while Winkler hit 71.4% for five kills and six digs and four aces. Those 71.4% hitting percentage gave Winkler a new career-high.

When it comes to explaining why Hartford lost, don't look at Lydia Krasselt. Despite the final result, she had seven digs and five assists.

West Bend West's win bumped their record up to 10-15. As for Hartford, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-14.

Coincidentally, West Bend West and Hartford will both be playing Manitowoc Lincoln the next time they take the court. The Orioles will head out to face the Ships at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Spartans will play them later in the day, at 11:00 a.m.
