Basketball Recap: Mauldin Piles Up the Points Against Easley

Mauldin won the last time they faced Easley and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Mavericks blew past the Green Wave, posting a 74-2 victory. That looming 74-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Mavericks yet this season.

Mauldin's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from J'Dah Aiken, who shot 83% from the field on her way to 16 points and five steals. That's the most steals Aiken has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Zara Leamon, who went 8-for-10 en route to 17 points.

Mauldin smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards every time they've taken the court this season.

Mauldin's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Easley, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Looking ahead, Mauldin will be taking part in a tournament against Cross Creek at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Easley and Pickens will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Blue Flame will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Green Wave surely won't give up without a fight.
