Basketball Game Preview: Walled Lake Western Warriors vs. Clarkston Wolves

Walled Lake Western is 0-3 against Clarkston since January of 2017 but things could change on Friday. The Walled Lake Western Warriors are taking a road trip to face off against the Clarkston Wolves at 7:00 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Last Tuesday, Walled Lake Western came up short against Mott and fell 60-47. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 363rd, while the Corsairs are ranked 13th).

Meanwhile, Clarkston was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 66-62 to Groves.

This is the second loss in a row for Walled Lake Western and nudges their season record down to 4-6. As for Clarkston, their loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 11-3.

Walled Lake Western took a serious blow against Clarkston in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 67-26. Can Walled Lake Western avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
