East Limestone hasn't had much luck against Russellville recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The East Limestone Indians will be playing at home against the Russellville Golden Tigers at 7:00 p.m.

East Limestone's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Hazel Green last Friday. They had to suffer through a 39-0 loss at the hands of the Trojans. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Russellville made easy work of Lawrence County on Friday and carried off a 42-20 victory.

Cameron Phinizee was a one-man wrecking crew for Russellville as he rushed for 359 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 10.9 yards per carry. Phinizee's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his 15th straight game with at least 105 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Russellville was moving up and down the field and finished the game with 500 total yards. That's the most total yards they've posted since back in October of 2023.

Russellville's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged three passes before it was all said and done. The picks came courtesy of Keifer Hallmark and Zaye Hubbard. Hallmark also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up a sack and making seven total tackles (2.0 for loss) in addition to snagging two interceptions.

East Limestone's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Russellville, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

East Limestone was dealt a bruising 53-7 defeat at the hands of Russellville in their previous matchup back in September of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Phinizee, who rushed for 190 yards and four touchdowns on only 14 carries, and also picked up 39 receiving yards.
