Basketball Game Preview: Uniontown Red Raiders vs. Greater Latrobe Wildcats

The Uniontown Red Raiders will take on the Greater Latrobe Wildcats in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Uniontown comes in on three and Greater Latrobe on four.

Last Friday, Uniontown got the win against Albert Gallatin by a conclusive 74-49.

Uniontown had a senior duo take command as Calvin Winfrey went 12 for 15 on his way to 30 points and five rebounds and Tori Grooms almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Winfrey has scored all season. Kelan Milsom was another key player, putting up 11 points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, Greater Latrobe hadn't done well against Gateway recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Greater Latrobe managed a 75-71 victory over Gateway. While the Wildcats didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Uniontown's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Greater Latrobe, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.

Uniontown couldn't quite finish off Greater Latrobe in their previous meeting back in February of 2015 and fell 94-92. Can Uniontown avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
