Baseball Game Recap: Sumter Gamecocks vs. Ashley Ridge Swamp Foxes

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Sumter can now relate to. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 3-2 to the Ashley Ridge Swamp Foxes, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Swamp Foxes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 on Monday.

This is the second loss in a row for Sumter and nudges their season record down to 14-13. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only one runs. As for Ashley Ridge, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-16.

While Sumter had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
