The Granite Hills Cougars will head out to face off against the Coachella Valley Mighty Arabs at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Granite Hills is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.

It was a proper cat-fight when Granite Hills challenged University Prep on Tuesday. Granite Hills came out on top against University Prep by a score of 5-2. While the Cougars didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Seth Christenson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up ten Ks.

On the hitting side, Landon Henderson was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Vincent Jarvis, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Coachella Valley fell victim to Shadow Hills and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They fell just short of the Knights by a score of 2-0. The loss continues a trend for the Mighty Arabs in their meetings with the Knights: they've now lost three in a row.

Granite Hills' victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Coachella Valley, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Granite Hills' speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's game. Granite Hills has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.2 stolen bases per game.
