Softball Game Preview: Austin Eagles vs. Scottsburg Warriors

Austin is 0-9 against Scottsburg since April of 2015 but things could change on Tuesday. The Eagles will be playing at home against the Warriors at 5:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Providence hit Austin with a eight-run first inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Eagles came up short against the Pioneers, falling 13-3. That's two games in a row now that the Eagles have lost by exactly ten runs.

Meanwhile, Scottsburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 22-4 to Madison.

Kelsey Pinto- Herrera made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Reese Lowery also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Scottsburg's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Austin, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-8.
