Soccer Game Preview: Gainesville vs. Sanger

The Gainesville Leopards will head out on the road to take on the Sanger Indians at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses apiece.

Friday just wasn't the day for Gainesville's offense. They lost 4-0 to Celina on Friday. While losing is never fun, Gainesville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 290th, while Celina are ranked 29th).

Meanwhile, Sanger also failed to score in their most recent game. They came up short against Aubrey on Friday, falling 10-0.

Gainesville's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Sanger, their loss dropped their record down to 1-10.

Gainesville got the 'W' when the teams last played back in January of 2024 against Sanger by a conclusive 6-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Leopards since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
