Volleyball Recap: Silver Creek Comes Up Short

After flying high against Mountain Range on Saturday, Silver Creek came back down to earth. The Raptors fell just short of the Horizon Hawks by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Raptors were not able to make up for their loss to the Hawks from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Silver Creek couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Horizon a tough time in the third set. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-16, 28-30, 23-25, 17-15.

Silver Creek's offense was headlined by Ava Rabenhorst and Michelle Tan, who picked up two kills apiece. They got some help from Susan Campie and her four assists.

Horizon was led to victory by Sarah Vaness and Taylor Gooden. Vaness had 24 digs and three assists, while Gooden had ten digs. Vaness is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Silver Creek dropped their record down to 3-11 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Horizon, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

Silver Creek has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 win against Holy Family on the 17th. As for Horizon, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Legacy on the 16th.
