The Elko Indians will head out on the road to square off against the Middleton Vikings at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Elko comes in on five and Middleton on four.
Last Saturday, everything went Elko's way against Hug as Elko made off with a 17-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won five contests by 15 runs or more so far this season.
Abrianna Lesbo made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Vanessa Romero, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in runs. Kallista Crouch was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Three bases. while going 3-for-4.
Elko was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .435. They are 6-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, everything went Middleton's way against Boise on Tuesday as Middleton made off with an 11-1 win. Fans of the Vikings have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.
Rylee Rodriguez was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Sadie Stafford, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Elko's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-4. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Middleton, their record now sits at 4-0.
Both Elko and Middleton just can't seem to miss. Elko has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.3 hits per game. However, it's not like Middleton struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.5 hits.
