Softball Recap: Bluefield Beavers vs. Hoover Huskies

On Wednesday, Bluefield faced Hoover in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Bluefield Beavers fell 7-4 to the Hoover Huskies. That's two games in a row now that Bluefield has lost by exactly three runs.

Madison Lawson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with three RBI and a double. Abby Richardson was another key contributor, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

On Hoover's side, Addi Chapman was excellent, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Lexi Kennedy, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Bluefield and nudges their season record down to 17-7. As for Hoover, their victory bumped their record up to 27-4.

Bluefield does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hoover, they will head out on the road to square off against Keyser at 9:45 a.m. on Thursday. Keyser will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Hoover surely won't give up without a fight.
