While Calhoun's victory against Jones wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Sandcrabs skirted past the Trojans 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Sandcrabs have posted since February 20th.

Demetrio Rodriguez made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over six innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

Rodriguez wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ricky Martinez, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Calhoun has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-13-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Jones, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-15-1.

As of now, neither Calhoun nor the Trojans have any future games scheduled.
